Fashion for a slim and fit figure fulfills its role - we all follow diets from time to time.
But some holidays can negate your efforts, and the reason is alcohol consumption.
How alcohol affects weight loss
The most important negative effect is dehydration. In that case, the cells lose not only water, but also the minerals and trace elements we need, which play an important role in metabolism and therefore in weight loss or gain.
Under the influence of alcohol, a person easily breaks bans, eats much more than he intended and more satisfying dishes. As a product, alcohol has no nutritional value, our body will expend calories from it first, but everything else received with it will be put aside.
Alcohol has been shown to reduce testosterone levels and impair digestion, which also leads to weight gain in exchange for the desired weight loss.
What type of alcohol does not interfere much in the diet
Obviously, sweet liquor is very high in calories and should not be allowed in the diet. Ethyl alcohol itself is 710 kcal per 100 grams, which means that all distillates are also high in calories.
Foods excluded from the diet include all sweet, semi-sweet and fortified wines, champagne, liqueurs and Cahors. It is better not to consume beer during weight loss: despite its low nutritional value, it contains phytoestrogens, slows down the metabolism and promotes the growth of adipose tissue in the body.
It is allowed to drink one or two glasses of dry wine, approximately 150-200 ml in volume. The wine can be red or white, depending on your preferences, with an alcohol content of 7-11%.
What to eat alcohol during a diet
If you are watching your weight, choose snacks:
- low-fat cheese;
- roasted or boiled chicken, turkey, meat, veal;
- roasted, steamed or boiled vegetables;
- fish (except fried and smoked);
- lemon.
To reduce the overall damage from exposure to alcohol, the most important thing is not to abuse it, not to drink too much. Try to avoid strong, sugary alcoholic beverages.
If you attend a banquet, eat foods that contain protein.
